The music magazine industry in the UK

The music magazine industry in the uk is in general a very volatile industry. This is because not many music magazines and companies seem to work out and many of these die out within the first few years of publishing. This is because the more famous publishers such a bauer cover a very wide range, making it impossible for any new comers to try and fill these gaps. The way in which new coming publishers can do this successfully, is by finding this which magazines out there havent appealed to yet. In order to do so research should be carried out. ive tried to do some within my piece, and i feel i had a fairly successful final over all image of the magazine. New technology has effected the music industry in a way that has causes great issues. For example, illegal downloading of music means that money isnt earnt from downloads which funds are shared out over many companies. Another important fact is that the music industries profits have fallen by 60 percent in the last decades, meaning more and more magazines are cut. The way that the industry in particular is catigorised is in a way that different magazine styles and companies appeal to different people. For example, a certain amount of people may read indie magazines, than classical, because that music type is more popular for that individual age range. This is something music companies have to take in to deep consideration, as it all has a very large impact on the over all sales.
